Did you know that this facility is owned by the city of kenner? Yes, and by the way they only cater to non-americans. If a non-american goes by to seek assistance to pay their electricity bills, learn to speak spanish, free school supplies etc they are turned away. One of the neighbors went by several years ago to ask how do they sign up to learn to speak spanish and they were told by Rebecca the manager, "you have to go to UNO" to take classes. In other words the grant money that runs this operation does not assist you if you are american. This facility has been offering "free" tutoring for elementary aged children. Another neighbor happened to go there to ask a question. While waiting to speak with someone a hispanic female came in and stated, "I'm here to bring my son for free tutoring classes". Yet our neighbors kids were struggling in school and live in the building down from this place. Two years ago a business in the neighborhood was approached by Rebecca and her words were, " give these to all of your hispanic kids". They were flyers to give out school supplies. Can you believe? Needless to say, the flyers were thrown in her face and was told, "thanks but no thanks". I encourage everyone that reads this posting to not take my word but go by there Monday thru Thursday between 8 am and 2 pm and you will not see one american pulling up and walking in to take classes and conduct business with them. You will only see, Dominicans (very dark skinned dont mistake for african americans), Puerto Ricans, Indians, Vietnamese, Hondurans etc. I am not saying that it's a bad thing to help other nationalities. I am saying it is unacceptable to have such a place owned by the city of Kenner (sell outs) that does not cater to ALL RACES. This is unacceptable and Kenner residents should be picketing this place. Why can't it simply be called the Kenner Resource Center. If Caucasians and Blacks were to or when they do include race in their names they are deemed racist!! While blacks and whites are still fighting against one another (such an antiquated, uneducated, unsophisticated way of thinking) all of these other races are setting up more businesses and are more economically healthy than the average white or black. Again I take issue with the exclusion of this facility, with the stamp of approval from Kenner. All should be welcome. When they have events people on Florida have no idea until the day of the event. These events aren't broadcasted on the news, in english papers or signange is not placed anywhere for all of the residents to see. Shame Shame Shame on The City of Kenner. Go take a looksie, their seal is on front of the building. Americans have become slaves in their own country because we protest nothing and we fight for nothing.
